Lamar still can't taste or smell after bout with COVID-19 - NBC Sports

Lamar Jackson was able to play for the Ravens once again after missing last week's game against the Steelers due to a positive COVID-19 test.

However, the reigning MVP is still feeling the effects of the virus. He may have returned to the field, but his taste and smell have yet to come back to him.

"I had like symptoms I couldn’t taste or smell," Jackson said after the game. "My sense of taste and smell will come back late I wouldn’t wish that on anyone."

Fortunately for him and the Ravens, his play didn't seem to go anywhere. Jackson had an efficient night passing the ball in a commanding 34-17 win over the Cowboys Tuesday night, besides the one interception. He found Marquise Brown in the endzone on a beautiful touch pass and was his usual self on the ground as well, running for 94 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.

With the win, the Ravens improved to 7-5 and kept themselves alive in the AFC wild-card race. They're a game behind both the Colts and Dolphins for the last two spots in the playoffs and have a huge Monday night game against the Browns coming up in Week 14.

Whatever happens the rest of the way, Jackson can feel good about staying on the field. He was not a fan of the week he had to spend away from his team.

"It felt like I didn’t pay a whole season," he said. "I feel good being with my guys even walking into the locker room I couldn’t wait to walk into the locker room."
