Update: Police have identified the woman found in the refrigerator.
Police are investigating a possible homicide after a dead body was found in a refrigerator in a second-story hallway of an apartment complex in Allegheny County, according to police.
KDKA reported that police were called to the apartment complex in the 90 block of Helen Street around 9:45 a.m. Monday.
Allegheny County police confirmed the investigation and circumstances to the station. WPXI reports the body was of a woman, who has not been identified.
Both stations spoke with neighbors who said they first noticed the smell coming from the hallway, which led to them finding the body.
One woman told KDKA that they didn’t know where the smell was coming from because the fridge was facing backward.
