Cedar Rapids, Iowa (KWWL) - The Cedar Rapids Fire Department responded to a report of a light smoky haze and smell of something burning in the lobby of the Holiday Inn Express tonight.
Crews arrived to find a slight haze of smoke in the hotel. Initially, firefighters hooked the hydrant, laid hoses and connected to the sprinkler system.
Upon investigation, crews found a burned up heater motor in the hotels heating system.
No fire damage occurred and no evacuation was needed.
